Last week, we were fortunate enough to have been invited by Embratur (Brazilian tourism board), to participate with them at ITB Berlin, as one of the agency representatives on the Brazil stand.

The Brazil Stand

ITB Berlin is one of the, if not THE largest travel trade show in the world, and this was my first time in the city, and at the show! So it was quite an adventure, and a wonderful learning experience. And I would get lost on the way to our stand, every. single. day of the event.

Getting lost.

At the show, Viare Travel had our own little stand, right next to other wonderful agencies in Brazil. Besides mingling with professionals from my own country’s stand, I had the opportunity to schedule meetings with people from all over the world!

Me at my stand!

Besides participating at the stand, I attended a few of the networking events – two off site, for Travel Massive. The first was a happy hour, at a very cool coworking space. There, I met some of the staff from Travel Massive, some tech-y folk, and even some Brazilian bloggers!

We also had a Travel Massive leader meeting (since I’m the São Paulo leader), at a hostel some of the other leaders were staying at, which was super cozy and fun! It was interesting learning about the different challenges each country faces to get people to come together and network.

Finally, at ITB itself, I attended a networking event for Responsible Travel professionals. There, we had the opportunity to “pitch” our businesses, and of course I got up to rave about how great Viare is, and how much we are committed to traveling responsibly in Brazil!

Needless to say, it was an incredible experience and opportunity, and we hope to be back next year. Thank you Embratur for allowing us to come along, and thank you to Berlin, for being such and incredible city (just wish you were a bit warmer!).

Also, just on a personal note, some of my girl friends who live all around Europe came to Berlin just to support me, which was just incredible.

We’ll be at WTM Latin America in just a few weeks as well, if any of you reading this would like to schedule a meeting and meet up there!
